Department Head for the Surgical Clinic's Reception Operations in Kalmar

We offer you a developing role as the Department Head for the Surgical Clinic's reception operations in Kalmar.

You will be responsible for leading and coordinating three units, which are the endoscopy unit, surgical reception, and urology reception.

Together with knowledgeable and engaged employees, you will play an important role in further developing processes, following medical technology advancements, and driving accessibility work within surgery, urology, and endoscopy. The work is conducted in teams with the patient at the center, aiming for high quality and competence in every interaction. The responsibility for the endoscopy unit includes collaboration with the anesthesia clinic and the medical clinic.

As the Department Head, you are responsible for the work environment and are expected to lead, plan, and develop the operations. You report to the operations manager, are part of the management team, and have close cooperation with the other five department heads within the clinic. The role includes personnel responsibility for approximately 35 employees distributed across the following professional categories: nurse, specialist nurse, endoscopist, cystoscopist, and nursing assistant.

About You

We are looking for someone with a degree from a college or university focused on health and medical care or other education that the employer deems relevant. You have several years of experience in your profession.

The Surgical Clinic conducts a broad range of operations divided into upper and lower abdominal surgery, vascular, breast, endocrine, urological surgery, and surgical emergency care. A total of over 200 people work at the clinic. The surgical clinics in Kalmar and Oskarshamn are a joint clinic, with advanced surgery taking place in Kalmar, and in Oskarshamn, operations that normally do not require intensive care are conducted.

The County Hospital in Kalmar is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an emergency hospital with specialist care, maternity care, and postnatal care.
